I shutdown and restarted the Signal instance shortly after, to see if a fresh restart of Signal would prompt for another download/install, but in 24 hours, it has NOT detected an updated version.Īnd I am concerned about trying to simply run the manually downloaded installer, that it my bork my current installed database/history. My OP issue, is that, I clicked to download/install the update, (had plenty of room), and I got the OP error. So, I've been dealing with this particular bug for like 2 years now.Īll instances of Signal are gone from Task Manager, yet I still get this popup to close Signal and click retry, EVERY SINGLE TIME I do an update.īUT, if I wait a few seconds, and click retry, it always completes the install. After clicking "try again" multiple times, I clicked "cancel" and the result is on the second screenshot. The installer is 5.37.0, installed version is 5.36.0. Without any result, because Signal Desktop is alread closed. Although Signal Desktop is closed (checked it in the Windows Task Manager), the installer gives message as below, basicly it says that it can not close runnig application and you have to close it and click "try again". I have similar issue and decided to use downloaded installer.
